The Cabin

Accommodation & Information

About SunnyBank

Sunnybank Lodge is a beautiful handcrafted log cabin built from Welsh Wood and nestled in a cosy secluded nook on the outskirts of the Coastal village of Broad Haven.

All facilities are provided for you to be able to self cater during your stay and there are shops, restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the cabin.

The cabin itself is made of whole logs, so the walls are incredibly thick creating a cosy space. There is bespoke shelving and clothing rails in the bedrooms as well as under bed storage in both rooms. There is gas central heating and a log burner to keep you warm in the colder months.

Everything is available that you need to self cater during your stay – a microwave, toaster, kettle, under counter integrated fridge/freezer, induction hob and oven. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. There is a cafetière for the coffee connoisseurs and plastic crockery, beakers and cutlery for children.

Bedding and one set of towels per person is provided for your stay. These can be refreshed upon request. We do politely ask that people please bring their own beach towels.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed. The second bedroom has a triple sleeper bunk bed, with a double bed on the bottom and single bed on the top. The bedding is professionally laundered for your comfort.

We only advertise as sleeping 4 people, as the top bunk specifies that only people aged 6 and over can use it. Not all people would be happy bunking up in the double bed. We leave it to your discretion when you book, but we can accommodate a maximum of 5 people in the cabin if the sleeping arrangements are acceptable.

We advise that if you have a small baby/toddler that you bring a small travel cot and your own baby bedding. The cabin is cosy and there is room to squeeze a small travel cot into the bedroom with the triple bunkbed.

Externally, there is a small shed adjacent to the cabin which contains a washing machine (detergent and conditioner is provided) an electric dryer, and a drying rack. This space can also be used to store bikes/surfboards during your stay. There is also small gas barbecue in the shed that you can use outside.

Two comfortable sunbeds are also provided.

To the back of the cabin is a small pond and private seating area. There is also an outside shower which is centrally heated and ideal for washing off after going to the beach. The pond area is fenced and gated, but we do ask that young children are supervised at all times. There is also a pretty rock face behind the garden and external lights that can illuminate the whole area at night.

A path leads you up the side of the bank to a lovely viewing area with a bench. From here, you can sit and enjoy the sea view – the perfect spot for a sundowner!

To the front of the cabin, there is a large decked area with a picnic table that seats up to 6 people. The area has external lighting so can be used late into the evening. There is also a gate that can keep the deck area enclosed if you have small children/dogs that you don’t want to wander off whilst you are relaxing.

There is good parking for up to 2 guest cars directly in front of the cabin on a gravelled drive. There are 9 steps up to the decking area with a sturdy handrail, then 2 small decked steps up to the cabin’s door – which is a stable door. Once you are inside the cabin, everything is on one level.

Gareth is a commercial fisherman, so there is often a fishing boat on the driveway and other related equipment. This does not affect the parking or intrude on the cabin, but you may hear him leaving sometimes, early in the morning.

Guest access
There is a large decked area to the front of the cabin and all of the area to the sides and rear, including the viewing area are available for our guests to use exclusively. It is clear where the adjacent property starts.

Other things to note:

Sleeping arrangements:

The cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people – or 5 if you are happy to bunk up. We only advertise as sleeping 4, as not all children/adults want to share a double bed, and not all adults wish to bunk up onto a single bed. Please note that people need  to be aged 6 or over to use the top bunk and that only one person can be up on the top bunk at any time.

Parking:

There is parking available on site for a maximum of 2 cars per guest party. If you have more vehicles than this, we would advise that you park any additional vehicles in the Pembrokeshire National Park car park in Broad Haven. This is a safe car par and only a 5 minute walk from the cabin. There is a discounted parking ticket rate for longer stays: Parking – Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Pets:

We are very dog friendly and welcome a maximum of 2 dogs at a time. We provide some dog towels and poo bags. Please pick up after your furry friends, and we politely request that you don’t let them in the bedrooms or up on the furniture. There is a dog bowl and a medium sized plastic dog basket in the shed.

NB. Please do not leave your dogs unattended in the cabin. If you would like to go out without your furry friend, we can recommend a local dog sitter for you.
